About the Role:
We have an exciting position for an experienced HR Manager which is a 2(17) (1) level appointment required under the Mine Safety and Health Act to join our Company. In this role. You will be responsible for managing the HR operations for our Company, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and fostering a positive work environment. Your expertise in HR practices and your friendly demeanour will contribute to the success of our Company's mining operations.
Company Description:
Our Company operates in the vanadium titanomagnetite mining market, where we mine and sell ores a variety of local and international clients, which is further processed and extracted through rotary kiln and electric furnace processes. The mine has the highest vanadium grade in its raw ore, is a world-class mega-mine.
Job Description:
Lead the implementation and optimization of HR systems, including but not limited to payroll, time and attendance, and talent management.
Contributes to the planning and implementation of the performance management process that impacts high labour productivity
Actively foster and support the development of a high-performance working culture within a unionized environment
Apply Health and Safety principles with the Operation Manager as aligned with the Company’s values in all interactions
Establishment and enhancement of the Company's employee handbook in dealing with disciplinary and grievance issues, thereby creating a healthy work environment
Apply Sustainability principles through attraction, development, and retention of the required skills for employees
Act as a point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing concerns and maintaining a positive work environment.
Ensures continuous and relevant / appropriate HR services in the operation at all times
Manage leadership engagement and HR function programs
Oversee HR requests integration/prioritization and HR services facilitation
Contributes towards the operations performance in line with the set and revised business plans
Ensures Operation complies with all obligations / legislation / regulation in accordance to Labour law.
Manages the resources and outputs of the function in the operation including labour, budgets, and wellness
Provides independent and quality HR service & support; and influence to managers and employees in helping to resolve any people related enquiries
Proactively liaises with colleagues in other sub-functions of HR for any specialist support required by own operation
Refine and enhance the existing processes, programs and work in the light of HR in order to contribute to a highly effective working environment, incorporating ways of working, future of work, operating model, etc.
Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, labour unions, and industry associations.
Excellent knowledge of and ability to generate professional job advertisements, job specifications and job descriptions.
Qualification:
NQF 7 Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Human Resource management or Employee Relations
Additional qualification in Labour Law will be advantageous
Comprehensive HR Generalist experience with excellent knowledge of applicable Labour Laws (BBBEE Codes and Scorecard system, BCEA, LRA, EE Act, Skills Development Act, COIDA, etc.)
Required:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in HR Management
Minimum of 4 years in Middle Management role
Experience in a Mining or processing environment
Comprehensive experience related to project recruitment in an opencast mining environment.
Excellent IR/ER skills with proven ability and track record to deal with Unions and represent the company during labour disputes at CCMA (Conciliation and Arbitration level).
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
High level of attention to detail.
Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS-Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
Excellent Interpersonal relationship skills.
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
Valid code EB drivers' licence and willing to travel extensively to visit projects.
